I Don’t Know Who Needs To Read This But I Know Someone Does . . .

Often times WE get caught up in the hype of social media . Emphasis on WE cause I think it’s something we all do. You’re probably shaking your head like “yeah right bitch I don’t take this social media shit seriously.” Shitting me , YES YOU DO ! When I say we get caught up in the hype of social media, I’m not saying that everybody is shaking their ass for the gram & posting half-naked pics for a couple likes. I’m saying that we let social media rush our seasons and brainwash us into thinking we’re doing everything wrong in life. Let me explain . . . You spend long hours studying to pass those hard ass exams and may work a full-time job or two. Shit you might even be a full-time parent on top of that. You go so hard chasing your dreams everyday but I bet you’re still hard on yourself. Today, that girl you follow who doesn’t work posted the keys to her new Benz or maybe sis is always posting all the nice things she has while you are at a stand still. Now you’re stressed and depressed trying to figure out what you’re doing wrong and how come good things haven’t started happening for you. I bet you constantly joke about becoming a stripper , scammer or a drug dealer because you feel like that’s your only hope to becoming successful and you feel like they have it better than you. In fact, those who strip , scam or sell drugs have it rough or they’ve had it rough. Life wasn’t always a walk in the park for them either despite their success or what they show via  social media. Just because you see someone doing well now doesn’t mean their life was any different from yours at one point. That girl with the new Benz that you follow is living her best life now but you never know what she went through to get to this point. Who knows she could have been abused as a child by someone she trusted then grew up and experienced abuse in her relationship.  Maybe she lost everything and slept in her hooptie for months before she got to this point. I say all that to say every season has to serve its purpose. You can’t just think everything is always going to play out perfectly.  Sometimes you gotta fall off , be broke or get hurt before everything you ever wanted starts coming together. Don’t let someone else’s seasons or chapters of their life discourage you and make you feel like you aren’t good enough cause you are. What’s for them is for them and what’s for you is for you. No one can take what’s meant for you away from you. Don’t let social media distract you or rush your progression in life of where you think you’re SUPPOSED to be based off where life took other people. Good things probably already started happening for you but since you got caught up in the hype of social media you probably didn’t notice. Don’t let these people lie to you, you’re still poppin with a 9-5 and greatness takes time. Don’t trip . . You’re doing great !
